Construction Liens Can Lean On You!

Construction Liens Can Lean On You!

New construction, remodeling, home repairs are always an inconvenience and very often a whole lot more. Don’t permit any of these situations to become even more difficult for you as a property owner by failing to comply with the Florida Construction Lien Law. You should only pay once for the labor, materials and supplies utilized in your project. Big job or small, this law applies to all. There are numerous intricacies in this law that can create pitfalls for the unwary. Always keep one thing in mind—property owners to a large degree know very little, if anything about this law, but contractors, subcontractors and suppliers know everything about this law, as they deal with it every day. The detail and requirements of this law are many. If you do not comply with this law you may be exposed to double payments, a lien being placed on your property, and you having to pay not only your own, but also the other side’s attorney fees and costs. Don’t let a construction lien lean on you! When commencing a project with a contractor make sure you have done your homework and conferred with an attorney to know what you –and the contractor (he has to comply with the law to get paid)—have to do under the lien law.
