Slogans and Catch Phrases
It is not possible, in America, to avoid catch phrases and slogans. It is exactly what the advertisers shoot for instilling for a lasting impression. If a company must pay for advertising, it is even better if that advertising results in some part of their ad being repeated in the general public, since they need not pay for that air time. Some of the best examples are “Where’s the beef?” – in the 1980’s and even into the 1990’s that catch phrase could be heard repeated, often times, without even a comment of the original brand, but everyone knew it. “Just do it”, is another iconic catch phrase and I need not divulge the company name, since practically every person could identify it. It is engrained in Americana, that advertising is essential and profitable.
In Florida, the rules governing attorney advertising have changed and become considerably more liberal over the last couple of decades. New law firms now can compete with the established law firms, by simply buying enough space on billboards, television or radio. It is name recognition. Some firms have catchy phrases and slogans that seem to suggest that the law firm is immediately just for them, while others suggest that the law firm practically guarantees results by posting other people’s results.
At Harris, Guidi and Rosner, we have a mantra that is not exactly short and catchy and most clients may never even be aware of it, however for the attorneys at the firm, it is our guide day to day: “Clients are the most important people ever in this building, whether in person or represented by the work we perform for them”. The focus is on the clients that are being represented. Harris, Guidi and Rosner, 31 years at the same location in San Marco, Jacksonville, Florida, prides itself on creating the buzz for new clients through the work we have performed for others in the past. The focus is and will always remain the client that is “in this building”, since that client is our greatest advertising and the most sincere method of any referral.
At Harris, Guidi and Rosner, we work every day to make our clients and their causes, as important to us, as they are to our clients.
